The Board of Directors of the Meeting Waters YMCA runs two campaigns each year to raise funds to support our charitable work. Each fall they run an Annual Support Campaign that provides support for the regional Y's programs and services for youth, teens, adults and families. In the Spring, the board engages the community in its Reach Out to Youth Campaign. One-hundred percent of the donations to this fundraising effort go to supporting the Meeting Waters YMCA's Scholarship Fund that ensures that our programs are accessible to all youth who want to participate. Won't you please help by supporting your local YMCA?

Below is our current request for your support/opportunity for investment:

Dear supporter of strong kids, strong families and strong communities:

We are here for good. We are 115 years old. And we are…

… the largest provider of school-age child care in southeastern Vermont. Serving far more children and families than any other child care organization in the region, our ASPIRE programs in Brattleboro, Dummerston, Bellows Falls and Chester serve nearly 200 children 3-5 days per week, including full days on all school vacations, teacher in-service days and most holidays. ASPIRE is not just a youth program—it is building strong families and strong communities by developing important assets in youth that are proven to reduce risk behaviors, by supporting working parents and their employers, and by focusing many activities on strengthening the family unit.

responsive to the needs of children, families and community leaders. Our ASPIRE, Snow Days Program, Child Care Transportation Program, and Youth & Government are innovative programs created directly in response to requests by local leaders and/or community-identified needs.

… one of the region’s largest providers of summer camp experiences. Our Lewis Day Camp provides summertime enrichment for over 250 kids from more than 20 NH and VT communities thanks to both our financial assistance program and our bussing services.

the largest employer of teenagers and young adults in the region’s non-profit sector. More than 20 teens and young adults hold key leadership positions in our ASPIRE and Lewis Day Camp programs. The training, mentoring, and experiences they gain with us increase their leadership capacity today and for the future.

… accessible to all kids and families regardless of their financial resources. Last year, Meeting Waters YMCA families received $204,222 in financial assistance and subsidized services! Since these numbers were generated, we have added a Military Respite Care program to our list of offerings. Children of military personnel on active duty or in recovery from a debilitating wound suffered at war can now attend ASPIRE and Lewis Day Camp at no cost to the family.

We’ve made great investments in your community. Won’t you make an investment to ensure that the programs we’ve brought to your community are accessible to all who want to take advantage of them?

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration,

Gretchen Horton Kuebler, President                             Steve Fortier, Executive Director
