As at all 2,686 YMCAs in America, the Meeting Waters YMCA makes the commitment that no one will be denied access to any of our programs due to lack of financial resources. Our Annual Support Campaign (held each fall), Reach Out to Youth Campaign (held each spring) and grant writing activities aim to develop a pool of financial resources large enough to meet the needs of the children and families who want to use our programs but can not afford to pay the full program fees.

There are three main forms of Financial Assistance for parents of children who want to attend our programs. For our ASPIRE and summer camp programs, the major form of assistance is the Child Care Subsidy Program. This program is designed to support middle to lower income parents who are working or in a job training program as well as parents with special needs. You can find out about this program by calling the Parent-Child Center in your region. If you do not know where to find them, feel free to contact us and we'll get you their information.

There are two other forms of Financial Assistance that will help many area families. The Meeting Waters YMCA has a Scholarship Fund built from local contributions and grant awards. In addition, service organizations from many communities in our region conduct fundraising activities in order to support those who would like to participate in our camp programs.

Determination of YMCA scholarship awards is based on demonstrated financial need, number of children from the household attending our programs, and amount of financial aid available (based on the amount contributed by individuals and organizations from the applicant's community). Financial Assistance for each of our various programs is awarded on particular dates to those who qualify. Please read the information about each program carefully as the financial assistance request deadlines will be included in the program information. Applicants are notified in writing whether or not they've received Financial Assistance from the Meeting Waters YMCA and, if so, how much.
