For the eighth consecutive year, the Meeting Waters YMCA is offering Kindergarten ASPIRE, an after-school program designed to meet the needs of Brattleboro School District and Dummerston School kindergarteners and their parents for the first month of school when kindergarteners are released before the end of the school day. The Brattleboro program takes place at Oak Grove School but is open to kindergarteners at any of the three BSD schools. Students from Academy and Green Street Schools can access this program through bus service provided by the Brattleboro School District. The Dummerston program takes place right at Dummerston School.
The program runs from August 31st through September 24th (kindergartners start going for the full day on Monday, September 27th).
Kindergarten ASPIRE is a licensed school-age child care program which ensures high standards for safety, staff training, and curriculum. This licensing also allows parents to access the VT Child Care Subsidy Program which provides financial support to parents who are working or in job training programs.
Space is limited to 10 children per program. This program is open only to children (and parents) with the need for care all five days of the school week.
Staff
The Kindergarten ASPIRE program will be led by the same Meeting Waters YMCA staff members that run our highly-acclaimed ASPIRE program.
Fees
Brattleboro: $120 for the 18 days of service, due before the program begins.
Dummerston: TBD... we are waiting to find out when kindergarten is released.
Financial Assistance
No one will be denied access to Kindergarten ASPIRE for lack of ability to pay full program fees. We accept payment from the VT Child Care Subsidy program. In addition, thanks to the support of the Turrell Fund and local donors, the Meeting Waters YMCA offers partial program scholarships.
