Our Adventure Camps offer an opportunity for older youth and teens to further develop their leadership and group skills in an environment that is challenging, supportive, and safe. The choice and design of all activities is based on the YMCA's 150+ years of leadership in providing age-appropriate activities. Our Adventure Camps are designed to challenge and inspire 10 to 15 year-olds.

We're offering two Adventure Camps this summer:

Project ExplorationCampers will explore the outdoors through hands-on activities. This adventure camp is designed to increase campers’ awareness of their natural world. Activities will include a hike, a canoe trip, and development of a NatureQuest activity guide to be used by our Lewis Day Camp.  Dates: 7/13-7/17.   Ages: 10-13.  Tuition: $200. Forms & payment due June 29.

Adventure Sampler: Five days, five different adventure activities! Campers will experience the low Adventure Challenge Course at Lewis Day Camp, canoe down the CT River, hike Mount Ascutney, kayak on the Black River and Hoyt’s Landing cove, and go rock climbing in Marlow. The cost of all equipment, expert leadership, and transportation is included in the program fee. Parents provide lunch and two snacks daily. Enrollment is limited to first 15 campers. Program meets each morning at Lewis Day Camp. Campers are welcome to ride the YMCA bus to and from camp each day. Details and camp itineraries will be sent upon pre-registration or upon request. Dates: 7/20-7/24. Ages: 12-15. Tuition: $250. Forms & payment due July 6th.

In addition to providing fun, educational programming and caring supervision, we provide bus transportation to our Adventure Camps from Alstead, Bellows Falls, Brattleboro, Charlestown, Chester, Drewsville, Dummerston, Langdon, Putney, Saxtons River, Springfield, Walpole, and Westminster.

Facilities: Our Adventure Camps take advantage of our region's amazing natural resources. Please read the descriptions below for specific site locations. Each program begins and ends its day at our Lewis Day Camp facility so that Adventure Campers can take advantage our bussing service.

Each Adventure Camp is led by a team of two staff members.
